Robert is an experienced conductor, musical director, music educator and composer who has a long history in the performing arts, both on stage and off. He is currently the Chief Conductor of the Australian & Asian Orchestra, Melbourne Lawyers' Orchestra, the Monash Medical Orchestra and the Monash University Choral Society. As well as being a commissioned composer he is also an advocate for the performance of new Australian works, frequently giving world premiere performances by other composers.
For his MMus degree (University of Melbourne) and honours year of his BMus degree (Monash University) Robert studied orchestral conducting under the guidance of the late English conductor Professor John Hopkins (OBE, OA). He has been the recipient of the prestigious Commonwealth Post Graduate Award at the University of Melbourne, a Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship and four Monash University Dean's Awards for excellence.
Robert professionally delivers music to the community through his conducting, tutoring and facilitation, composing and regularly personally organising a variety of musical events and programs throughout different parts of Melbourne.
